Linda Anderson

““I am already too young to have this job, and I’m a female. It’s like a double knock. But I will be so good that you don’t question any of that, and make sure you understand I am a force.”

We head back to high school with Linda Anderson. Linda taught Latin at St. Bernard’s HS in Fitchburg for several years. She was perfectly content being a teacher for the rest of her life. All she had to focus on was her students, and her classroom, with no politics to worry about. Fast forward—when the school asked her to be the principal. What she didn’t know when they asked is that school was in danger of shutting down. So not only is she running a whole school with little to no admin experience, but she has to save an entire high school. Linda is a great reminder of what we want for the next generation—a leader who cares. She loves the students, and she wants to prepare them for the world. The politics although she compares them to game of thrones—comes second—to the well-being of each student who walks through their school’s doors. She’s already faced some adversity in her position—where people may think she’s too young, and female to hold her role—but she’s ready to wow them every single time on just how good she is at being the leader of the school. She has a heart, she’s pure, genuine—and she shares so much knowledge that we need to hear. You can be *ambitious* but make sure you deserve the power you are looking for. At the end of the day, if we aren’t being good, kind people—do we really deserve anything at all? I love Linda—she really took me back to the classroom and I learned a lot in this interview—I know you will too.
